Dolomites
Wedding and Elopement Photography Service.

Are you searching for a Wedding or Event photographer in Dolomites?

I have been covering over 170 Weddings since July 2014, I can say that I am full of advice and help for your big day.

My couples are similar and so different at the same time. I would say that they have certain similar characteristics, they prefer to spend time with their families and friends rather than spending an hour taking the couple photos, they are usually shy, they don’t feel at ease to be the center of the attention, they have a certain knowledge about art, sometimes photography and painting.

Do you want to have an intimate wedding in the Dolomites that reflect your journey as a couple, your passions, and your spirit of adventure?

This is elopement photography for couples who want to ignore tradition and get married in a way that feels authentic to them. As a photographer, my purpose is to discreetly capture the story of your day in an honest and heartfelt way, without posing or intruding. I will record every aspect, from the raw emotions and poignant moments as they unfold, to the details you won’t want to forget.

I care deeply about creating meaningful connections with every couple who invites me to be a part of their journey. My approach is to innovate, not to conform to conventions. Your elopement experience should be as personal, genuine, and unique as you are.

Emotional Photographer documenting emotional Weddings.

Since July 2014, I document your intimate wedding, your Minimony, Sequel Wedding, Micro wedding or Adventurous Elopement, proposal, and engagement and I have seen a lot of love stories, full of joy and emotions. It has a lot of different names but only the story matters. I am moved by telling the story of your day in the most natural and genuine way possible. No need to spend one hour behind the church with me to take the couple photographs, I will always value letting you spend time with family and friends. This is your day, not mine.

Most of my couples define themselves as shy in front of the camera, I believe simply they don’t know how easy it is to spend a few simple moments with their partner in front of my camera. I will follow you from getting ready to the dance floor in the most natural way possible. To deliver a poetic and unique vision of the most important day of your life.
I have a lot of experience and expertise in traveling around Europe mostly. For the last 6 years, I have covered most of my weddings abroad and overseas.

I believe I can help you with my experience and advice for a perfect wedding day. I have prepared some articles to help you to find the right place to get married or to be inspired in some places like Spain, The Balearic Islands such as Ibiza, Mallorca,… Mexico, Morocco and of course Portugal. A bit of History about the Dolomites.

The Dolomites (ItalianDolomiti [doloˈmiːti]LadinDolomitesGermanDolomiten [doloˈmiːtn̩]  VenetianDołomiti [doɰoˈmiti]FriulianDolomitis) are a mountain range located in northeastern Italy. They form part of the Southern Limestone Alps and extend from the River Adige in the west to the Piave Valley (Pieve di Cadore) in the east. The northern and southern borders are defined by the Puster Valley and the Sugana Valley (Italian: Valsugana). The Dolomites are located in the regions of VenetoTrentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol and Friuli Venezia Giulia, covering an area shared between the provinces of BellunoVicenzaVeronaTrentinoSouth TyrolUdine and Pordenone.

Other mountain groups of similar geological structure are spread along the River Piave to the east – Dolomiti d'Oltrepiave; and far away over the Adige River to the west – Dolomiti di Brenta (Western Dolomites). A smaller group is called Piccole Dolomiti (Little Dolomites), located between the provinces of Trentino, Verona, and Vicenza (see map).

The Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park and many other regional parks are located in the Dolomites. In August 2009, the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

During the First World War, the front line between the Italian and Austro-Hungarian army ran through the Dolomites, where both sides used mines extensively. Open-air war museums are located at Cinque Torri (Five Towers) and Mount Lagazuoi. Many people visit the Dolomites to climb the vie ferrate, protected paths through the minefields that were created during the war.

A number of long-distance footpaths traverse the Dolomites. They are called alte vie (high paths), and are numbered 1 to 8. The trails take about a week to walk, and are served by numerous rifugi (huts). The first and the most renowned is the Alta Via 1. Radiocarbon dating has been used in the Alta Badia region to demonstrate a connection between landslide activity and climate change.

in the section Dolomites of the partition of the Alps and SOIUSA, (section 18 in the first and 31 in the second). It has very precise geographical limits and territorial continuity: the limits are Adige, Isarco, Rienza, Passo di Monte Croce di Comelico, Piave, Brenta and Fersina.

to the Dolomites group of the AVE (Alpenvereinseinteilung der Ostalpen), corresponding to group 52 of this subdivision. The limits of this delimitation do not coincide with those of the partition of the Alps or SOIUSA. In fact, while to the north and east the boundaries of the two subdivisions are identical (i.e. Isarco, Rienza, Passo di Monte Croce di Comelico and Piave) to the south, this classification foresees that the group extends well beyond Feltrino, including all the elevations between Piave and Brenta to the plain (Massiccio del Grappa eCollines d'Asolo). To the west instead of the Brenta, the boundary continues along the Cismon stream until Passo Rolle, from there it follows the Travignolo, climbs the Avisio for a few meters then reaches the Pampeago pass and from there the Isarco along the Ega stream. This border therefore excludes the Dolomites of Fiemme, which become a group apart.

this set of mountain groups, characterized by a predominant presence of dolomitic rocks. These groups are found mainly in the Alpine section defined as the Dolomites but also in other groups belonging to other sections [7]. In contrast, some mountain groups included in the Dolomites section have little or no dolomitic nature [8].

This article deals with the Dolomites from the first definition. For the discussion of the Dolomites regarding the second meaning, see the entry Dolomites (Alpine section).

Normally, the term Dolomites is used to denote the set of mountain groups, characterized by a predominant presence of dolomitic rocks, delimited by convention on the north by the Rienza and the Val Pusteria, on the west by the Isarco and the Adige with the valley of the same name, south of the Brenta river from where the Lagorai chain starts at the border with Val di Fiemme and east of Piave and Cadore.

The existence of the Oltrepiave Dolomites, located east of the Piave river, in the provinces of Belluno, Udine and Pordenone (and also in part of Austria, in Lower Carinthia, and the Lienz Dolomites in East Tyrol ), the Brenta Dolomites, located in the west of Trentino, the Small Dolomites, between Trentino and Veneto, and outcrops scattered throughout the Alps (for example the summit of Gran Zebrù in the Ortles-Cevedale group or the Sernio- group Grauzaria with walls up to 800 meters high) emphasizes the purely conventional character of this territorial delimitation.

The Dolomites, understood in the narrowest sense, are divided into two zones by the course of the Cordevole torrent (which flows in the province of Belluno and is the main tributary of the Piave), in the Eastern Dolomites, that is, say east of Cordevole and the western Dolomites west of Cordevole. The Dolomites region extends between the provinces of Belluno, Bolzano, Trento, Udine and Pordenone. The Marmolada is commonly referred to as the highest peak in the Dolomites, with its 3343 m altitude, but it should be noted that this formation is not made up of dolomite at all, but mainly of very compact white limestone from coral reefs, with inserts of volcanic material.

The genesis of this type of carbonate rock begins with accumulations of shells, corals and calcareous algae and in a marine and tropical environment (similar to the current coral reef of the Bahamas and eastern Australia), which has had place in the Triassic, around 250 million years ago, in areas with very different latitude and longitude from the current location of the Dolomites, where warm, shallow seas existed. At the bottom of these seas, hundreds of meters of sediment accumulated which, under their own weight and losing internal fluids, turned into rocks. Subsequently, the collision between the European plate and the African plate (alpine orogeny) brought out these rocks by raising them to more than 3000 m above sea level.

In summary, the orogenetic history of Dolomite is as follows:

From 270 to 235 million years ago, sedimentary rocks accumulated on land and in the sea. Atolls and coral reefs formed, often devastated by volcanic eruptions;

Between 235 and 180 million years ago, limestone and dolomite accumulated at the bottom of flat and coastal lagoons;

180 to 80 million years ago, deep seas allowed the accumulation of limestone and marl in thick layers,

20 million years ago, mountains were born from the deformation of ancient sea beds. The African Plate collides with the Eurasian Plate causing the Dolomites to rise (for example, the Sella Group that rises nearly a thousand meters above the surrounding landscape was a single large coral reef).

An obvious and very interesting example of the geological stratification of rocks is found in the Bletterbach Canyon in South Tyrol. On the Pelmetto in Cadore and at Lavini di Marco near Rovereto, there are fossil footprints of dinosaurs.

The current landscape is angular and full of unevenness. The bending and breaking of rocks according to sliding planes (faults), the movements of which correspond to as many earthquakes, caused this transformation; episodic volcanic explosions and associated deposits; differential erosions linked to atmospheric agents and to the weak planes inherent in rocks. The result is a topography very articulated in vertical structures (blades, arrows, towers, pinnacles, teeth, bell towers) and horizontal (roofs, cornices, terraces, cornices, plateau). It is possible to observe the evidence of periods with a temperate climate, preceding the glacials, but above all the forms of erosion and accumulation linked to the glacial periods dominate, smooth rocky bumps and streaked with ice (montonate rocks), hanging valleys , glacial cirques, deposits of moraines, traces of ancient frozen soils (permafrost), evidence of the pressures exerted by the ice masses.

Elevation of the Dolomites rocks is still ongoing. Today the Dolomites show the whiteness of the carbonates of coral reefs, the acuity of the rocks involved in the recent orogeny, the incisions of powerful exogenous agents (glaciers, wind, rain, cold-heat). Macereti (detrital deposits) are frequent, while glaciers and snowfields are present even if they are not of great extent (the most important is that of Marmolada. Also important is that of Fradusta in the Pale di San Martino). Erosion phenomena are the basis of particular geological formations, the earth pyramids in Alto Adige and Segonzano in Trentino.

In the geological future, the Dolomites will continue to grow, incorporating new areas of rocks brought about by the collision between the European and African plates (as well as what is happening for the Himalayan range); the disappearance of this drive will determine the prevalence of exogenous agents tending to smooth and soften the mountain landscape (as happened in the Urals).
