ERIC-RENÉ PENOY
(ˈɛrɪk rˈneɪ Penoy)
I am the guy behind the lens. I am a full-time dreamer, documentarian, film lover, traveler, and definitely not a traditional wedding photographer. I cover intimate and cinematic weekdays, weekend weddings, and elopements in the most natural way possible.
MARIA SARIÑANA-PENOY
(mə rē′əia Sarí’gnana)
She is my rock, the most creative person I know, she is also my assistant and second shooter. We do travel together and she always has my back. She is the artist in the relationship. If you wish to have some accessories (headpieces, earrings, …) for your special day or flowers, she can be the person to ask for ideas.
I have always loved traveling and discovering new things. During my childhood, I was fascinated by documentaries about nature, animals, and wildlife.
I started to create and live in my own world. I was fond of imagining the world, watching television, movies and National Geographic shows like Jacques Cousteau expeditions, reading encyclopedias, dictionaries, and books about animals and geology. I was pretty shy and introverted.
Genuine Curiosity means the world to me as I can express my inner soul and this is exactly what I want to give you. Everything I have inside me, my soul, my mind, and my heart; all my past, all my emotions, my tears when you cry, and my laughs when you smile. I want you to receive the gift of sharing and experiencing your wedding day with multiple photographs for you to tell your story, to relive your wedding.
Eric-René: How did I grow up?
MARIA: How did I grow up?
I’ve always had a soft spot for nature—plants, animals, gemology, wildlife. I love to read about art history, and remaining curios of the beautiful details in between. Design has also been a part of my world forever.
Growing up surrounded by creativity, my couturier grandmother taught me to appreciate well-made dresses, and my florist mom passed on her love for plants and flower design. Event design has always been a part of my life, and weddings continue to be a central passion and tradition in our family business.
Photography came into my life a little later, but it felt like the perfect way to bring everything together. The camera became the tool to freeze the beauty of special details, to document the fleeting moments of everyday and special occasions. Travel has always been a part of my journey, and now, I’m fortunate to explore it alongside Eric Rene as we capture the special moments of our couples. Each new place brings fresh inspiration, shaping my perspective on how love and life are celebrated across the world.
but I forgot to dream (ERIC)
For a while, when I was at Uni, I wanted to improve myself, maybe somewhere else, and make my parents proud of me. Thus, I have a postgraduate degree in Law and Social and Economic Administration for small and medium-sized companies (basically nothing related to photography, that’s right) - As I did not get a University scholarship anymore, I started a commercial career that lasted many years. One day, it appeared that I had the opportunity to sell cameras in a Shop, I spent hours with passionate clients, and this is how I finally grabbed my first DSLR.
Then my bohemian soul resurfaced, and I chose to head out into this big world, trying to discover the essential beauty of life.
WANTING TO LEARN ABOUT EVERYTHING (MARIA)
I (MARIA) majored in International Affairs because I was curious about the world. I have studied abroad several times, which has given me a fresh perspective. My work with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Mexican embassy in Madrid deepened my global view, but my true passion for design kept growing in my free time. When office work no longer fed my creativity, I decided to dive fully into the world of design and started creating my own works in headpieces and florals, which started to gain recognition for alternative brides.
I began receiving more commissions and recommendations from brides seeking unique, custom designs.
My (ERIC) friends asked me to shoot their wedding, and I fell in love with the job. From day one, I was moved by telling a story that nourished the day with a lot of photographs, small details, narrative, and, of course, emotions. Since then, I can say that I have developed my distinct and poetic style.
Embrace my job and new life
Not only because I finally felt free to do what I wanted to, but more because I loved having the opportunity to express my inner feelings.
I love being a storyteller, and the most important thing for me is to explain a full day with hundreds of pictures full of small gestures, emotions, and love; rather than to only have just a couple of artistic shots or just one shot. I don’t like to put a portfolio of my work as it does not represent a full day's cover by me. I prefer to show you an entire narrative and mood. For me, an image needs context or a touch of art and emotions to tell the truth.
Emotional Photographer
documenting emotional Weddings.
”Natural beauty
is true elegance.”

MARIA, The sound of the rain on summer days; trying different and creative things; pushing my limits; watching movies and music video clips; dancing; eating a lot of Italian, THAI, MEXICAN… Well, all kinds of food; having a good dinner with friends; meeting new people and talking about everything; will traveling.
MARIA HAS a taste for capturing the beauty of all things small and fleeting.
” True eye for detail sees not just what is, but what could be.”
I (MARIA) became skilled at listening closely to brides, understanding that their accessories were deeply personal. Paying attention to every detail inspired me to bring their dreams to life. This focus on detail has carried over into my photography, allowing me to truly understand our couples and their vision for their special day. Every day in our work is about observation and connection. I love that, in many cases, I can also offer accessories or florals, creating a full experience where everything comes together—it’s invigorating and endlessly inspiring.
I believe travel, craft, lifestyle, and photography all come together to create something magical. My approach to photography is a bit more editorial, focusing on cropped images and those little details that make each moment unique. This style pairs beautifully with Eric's cinematic touch, blending the two into a perfect harmony. Together, we create a storytelling experience.
That's when I realized I had something valuable to offer to a world I knew well, and in 2016, I launched my bridal jewelry brand.

chlorophyll! I am plant-obsessed, the scent of the Atlantic, the sound of thunder. feeding birds with breadcrumbs, greeting dogs on the street, and picking pebbles from the beach. I am currently obsessed with reading about history and gemology. I believe I’ll never stop creating jewellery and collecting pearls.
